Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American producer, actress and director. Her most well-known character is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded an Emmy Award in 2010 and an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. The series ended on August 13, 2012, following the completion of the seventh season. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick received nominations for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, a speech and family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian and of English origin. Sedgwick says she is Jewish and has stated that she goes to Passover seders.
